The Vewlix 'Slim'
Based on the Vewlix Arcade Cabinet design and originally scratch built in 2009, it has undergone many updates to make it look more like the original. A smaller footprint was chosen to allow it to fit in my games room.
The materials used were:
- MDF sheet
- 3mm Acrylic (clear and opal)
- Wood strips
- Aluminium strips
- High impact polystyrene (HIPS)
- Blackboard vinyl (textured and tougher than regular vinyl)
- Self leveling feet
- Custom Photoshoped artwork
The main base section was filled and painted with blackboard paint and covered with polyurethane varnish. The black stripes on the sides and top were made from HIPS.
The cabinet uses:
- Sanwa stick and buttons
- Hacked MadCatz fightpad
- Logitech 4.1 sound system running dual stereo
- 24 inch LG screen with a decently low input lag
